When you look at this CC13 "Spoonful Burst" you immediately understand why the strictly limited Collectors Choice guitars are among the most sought-after Les Pauls. Super authentic aging, fantastic look, exquisite woods, best workmanship and a killer sound. The CC13 is the faithful replica of the 1959 Les Paul with serial number 9-1352, originally purchased in Florida, later played by John Sebastian (guitarist of the "Lovin' Spoonful") on numerous tours and studio recordings. Since 1993 it has been owned by Gordon Kennedy, a guitarist and collector from Nashville, TN. The present "Spoonful Burst" captivates with its unique shade of "Faded Dirty Lemon Burst". Its neck, unlike most other Collectors Choice guitars, is a bit more grippy, almost a 58 profile, but by no means too fat or globby due to the Rounded Shoulders. Two perfectly balanced custom pickups (Alnico II and III) were used for the CC13, which deliver a top sound, warm, bluesy and transparent as needed, but also wonderfully smacky and biting with distortion. Extremely multi-faceted, this Les Paul feels at home in any musical genre. We have sufficiently pointed out the excellent value retention of the Collectors Choice guitars in the past, but the fact that you also get a beautiful player with the highest fun factor makes this "Spoonful Burst" all the more interesting. We are happy to be able to offer it to you including the frets in top condition.
