Brad Whitford was essential to the band's commercial breakthrough in the early '70s as Aerosmith's rhythm guitarist and Joe Perry's sidekick. And even then he was accompanied by his beloved 1959 Gibson Les Paul. As part of the "Collectors Choice" series launched by Gibson Custom Shop in 2010 an exact replica of this guitar was released in 2014 in an edition of 300. We are proud to offer you here #121, which is a very special "Whitford Burst". Thus, it has an incredibly beautiful top that will amaze you with its unique flame that runs across the instrument in the form of horizontal waves as well as vertical gradations and patterns. The color tone appears completely authentic and the meticulous aging really feels every scratch, dent and abrasion of the original. Weighing in at an (for a Les Paul incredible) 3570 grams it feels extremely comfortable from the get-go and also plays like a charm thanks to the medium-59 neck profile with rounded-shoulders. Sound-wise it's in the same exceptional league and you're in seventh burst heaven here: acoustically very direct and resonant the two Custombuckers provide plenty of poundage to the amp. Despite all the sustain and sonority the guitar always remains snappy, transparent and percussive - just like you're used to from the old Bursts. A fantastic player guitar, but like any Les Paul from the Collectors Choice series it has significant potential for appreciation. We can offer you this dream Paula in top condition.
