As good as no longer to get and for me still one of the best-sounding CC's, the CC11 "Rosie". The original, the 1959 Les Paul with serial number 9 0925 is something like the ultimate collector's dream: In its entire lifetime, it changed hands only once and was only very rarely taken out of the case. Accordingly, its condition is true to the original: not only does it show hardly any signs of use, but also the original color ("Factory Burst") has remained relatively unchanged over the years. In 2013, Gibson dedicated a replica to this guitar in the Collector's Choice series and, as with the original, you initially think you're holding a brand-new '59 in your hand. Only at a second look you notice the subtle signs of aging in the varnish. The top with its interesting grain and the rich red is simply a real eye-catcher and together with the slight aging you have a guitar with real character in your hand. And best player characteristics: The neck with the "Late 50s soft V" profile is great in the hand and even without amp the resonance and the top vibration behavior is really fun. In the amp, "Rosie" really comes to life and hisses and smacks that it is a real pleasure. Attack, sustain, warmth, transparency: everything is present in abundance. Whether as a value investment or player guitar, with Rosie you get a fantastic Les Paul in your house. Our copy with number 159 is in as good as unplayed condition.
