Gibson Les Paul 59 CC#1 Melvyn Franks "Greeny" VOS (2011)

The CC#1 "Greeny" Melvyn Franks is certainly the most sought-after and best-known Collectors Choice guitar. In the aged version it is almost impossible to find and now commands prices in excess of EUR 35,000. We are therefore delighted to be able to offer you this gem in the VOS version. Only 300 specimens were made of this replica of the Les Paul, which was owned by Gary Moore and Peter Green and now still sees the light of the biggest stages with Kirk Hammett. The "Greeny" at hand immediately fascinates with its enchanting top. Wonderful grain and super authentic. Excellent playability thanks to the 59-Medium neck profile, it feels really fabulous in the hand. And there's probably not much more to say about the characteristic sound. Like all the "Greenys" we've had in our hands so far this guitar also vibrates dryly at its finest and on the amp it really shines, including the characteristic "out of phase" sound. The original was made particularly famous by Gary Moore in his "Still got the Blues" era. And it is precisely this sound that immediately comes to mind when you play the dream instrument at hand. The sound literally jumps out at you. Incredibly direct and open. You can work with the tone perfectly. The neck pickup also sings brilliantly. An absolute hit in terms of sound! It's hardly surprising that the previous owner took great pleasure in this Paula as can be seen from the various minor signs of use (especially on the back of the body). "Natural aging" in the best possible authenticity, which we have of course taken into account in the pricing. These "Greenys" are extremely rare and therefore certainly retain their value very well. The fact that you can also save around EUR 20,000 compared to the aged version should put a grin on every collector's face and make this killer guitar interesting for players, too.
