For the 50th birthday of the 1959 Les Paul Standard, Gibson brought this special model in the colour Scotch Burst onto the market. Only 59 pieces were built and apart from the rare colour, this Les Paul is distinguished above all by the beautiful top. I can warmly recommend this Les Paul to every player. It has been played a lot and you can hear that ... with great resonance. Unfortunately, all the playing has left a few marks. The guitar has clear belt buckle marks on the back and the pickups were once replaced. The original pickups are now back in and the whole thing is soldered cleanly, top work! The neck is a typical '59 profile. Rather medium, so not a really fat 59 neck. Plays great and the frets are in very good condition. On amp, this guitar does exactly what you would expect from a good Les Paul. Fat, assertive, differentiated sound with just the right amount of midrange. Super sustain and a great tone. If you are looking for a Les Paul for everyday use with the best playing and sound characteristics and a great look, you will be delighted with this guitar. With 3920 grams also a top weight!
