Jimmy Page - legendary guitarist of Led Zeppelin - bought his "Number Two" in 1973 after trying for some time to acquire an exceptional second Les Paul. This was a few years after he received his "Number One" from Joe Walsh, a '59 Burst with a shaved-down neck profile and no serial number. "Number Two" was essentially all original when he bought it. Jimmy had some changes made to the neck shape to make it more similar to the playing feel of his "Number One", although its neck is slim but not quite as extreme. A strong, beautiful sunburst finish with a red base tone that fades to a dark amber brown. Page played this Les Paul a lot during his time with Led Zeppelin before giving it many modifications. Musikhaus Hermann had "Number Two" replicated in its original form as part of their "Inspired by" series, here in the cheaper VOS version. The perfect interpretation of one of the most famous vintage guitars! The neck profile is somewhere between a '59 and '60 profile. Definitely stronger than the typical Slim Taper profile. Optimal playability in combination with the dream weight of this Les Paul of just 3780 grams. In addition, it comes with great MHH specs such as a selected, beautifully grained Eastern maple top in an attractive, VOS-patinated "Antique Fade Burst" finish and an extra dark, selected rosewood fingerboard. And on the amp the extremely resonant "InPage" with its specially wound MHH Custombuckers is simply killer! Super dynamic, open sound with a great tone! Smacking and fat at the bridge, singing at the neck, it's a real joy. "Whola Lotta Love", "Rock and Roll", "Immigrant Song" - these are the sounds that this special gem is made for. Of course an absolute must for every Jimmy Page fan, but certainly also extremely interesting for all lovers of great Rock sounds and phenomenal vintage looks. We are delighted to be able to offer you this iconic guitar in absolutely top condition and with the very best price/performance ratio.
