Gibson's reissues have been like the search for the holy grail since the early days of the Custom Shop. But there really was no such thing as a typical '57, '58, '59 or '60 Les Paul Standard. In principle, they were all a little different depending on the production fluctuations of the time. The 1958 models were also different across the board, especially in terms of the top finish. From "more flamed" to "plain", everything was there. So it should come as no surprise that this '58 Les Paul Standard Historic is by no means a plain top, but rather enchants with its subtle but extremely authentic top grain. The whole thing is refined by a beautiful VOS finish, which results in a great vintage patina as a rather subtle aging. In addition, this Paula comes with the basic specs of the Historic series, which was discontinued in 2014. These include the use of historically correct bone glue, body, back and sides with historically correct aniline coloring, historically correct coloring of the binding, etc. The playability of the not-too-strong '58 neck profile is first-class and should not overpower even smaller hands. This vibrant Les Paul also impresses with an ideal weight of just 3980 grams. As soon as it is connected to the amp it conjures up a broad grin on the guitarist's face! Super direct with a great attack and a really nice smacking, differentiated sound. We are therefore delighted to be able to offer you this top player in top condition with only minor signs of use (slight belt buckle scratches on the back).
