We're used to some high-end Les Pauls, but when we opened the case here, our jaws dropped to the floor. What Gibson accomplishes in its brand new Murphy Lab of aging is truly a cut above anything before it. The cracks and hairline crazing are wonderfully subtle, the quirks in the finish made even more "aged" by slight traces of dirt. Even the Gibson logo on the headstock now comes across as a bit rounder and more irregular - just like it did on the real old Les Pauls. It's the little details that add up to the best aging we've seen from Gibson so far. This wow impression continues seamlessly when you play the guitar. Dry already very resonant, the Alnico III Custombuckers on the amp provide a burst sound par excellence. Clean very pearly and open, distorted simply rich, juicy and with exactly the "nose" in the sound that you know from the original PAFs. The slightly chunkier 58 neck also contributes to the fact that the Les Paul, which weighs only 3750 grams, resonates excellently. What can we say - you can't get more 58s than that. We can offer you the guitar in mint condition. The previous owner replaced poti knobs and some hardware parts with replacements from "Art of Aging", but the originals are included.
