Authentic, more authentic, Murphy Lab! This guitar from the brand new 70th Anniversary series exudes exactly the mojo of the real old Bursts. Like most of the originals of this year, it comes with a plain top and, in keeping with the heavy aging, the red part of the sunburst is completely faded. This is how a much played 58 Les Paul should look like! In the hand, the first thing you notice is the ingenious neck profile. Quite stronger than the average 59 profile, but not so thick that it would be uncomfortable. It's nice to have something in your hand, but you can still strum for hours without fatigue. Unamplified, the sound presents itself just as massive as the neck: loud, direct and beautifully balanced. At the amp an absolute pleasure due to the Unpotted Alnico III Custombucker - these pickups get a little better every year! By now they are almost indistinguishable from real PAFs and have exactly the blend of crispness, pearly highs and warmth that made the old Les Pauls so sought after.
