Gibson Les Paul 58 Mark Knopfler Aged (2016)

After the last Knopfler-Paula quickly left our warehouse, we went looking again and were able to get hold of another specimen of this iconic Les Paul. Only 100 of them were built and it is rare to find one on the second-hand market. We are therefore delighted to be able to offer you serial number 50 of this extremely rare guitar today. “Money for Nothing” by Dire Straits probably contains one of the most iconic guitar riffs of all time and marks the beginning of the era in which Mark Knopfler played Paulas, with which he made music history on several songs from the album ‘Brothers in Arms’ and at the famous ‘Live Aid’ festival. This replica of his '58 Les Paul was made entirely according to the True Historic specs and at only 3790 grams we have a very resonant lightweight with a nice powerful neck, but by no means as fat as some other '58 Les Pauls. It plays extremely comfortably and pleasantly. We already had several Knopfler Pauls and all of them convinced us with far above-average sound qualities. This Les Paul is no exception! Wonderful clean sound, simply typical Mark Knopfler! Very round and balanced with pleasant warmth and always beautifully pearly and differentiated. But also distorted, bluesy, simply a top sound! Lots of character and you can really work with the touch dynamics. Also 100% convincing with the lead sounds! Singing tone with a lot of expression. Furthermore, the top enchants with a beautiful three-dimensional grain and a phenomenal, super authentic color tone. In addition, all traces of use from the original were applied in great detail by none other than Tom Murphy himself. This is what legends look like! The Les Paul comes to its future owner in collector's condition.
