Is that already vintage...? After all this Goldtop from the early days of the Gibson Custom Shop has almost 30 years under its belt. But it has held up extremely well: apart from the usual signs of wear on the finish and binding, which indicate a busy life as a live guitar, the guitar is in top condition. And you don't often see such a deep golden color: not only beautiful but also super authentic! The neck has a strong profile, which is more familiar today from the 58s, and is simply fantastically comfortable in the hand. Even played dry it produces a loud, direct sound with great natural compression and plenty of sustain. Things then heat up at the amp. You quickly realize that the "57 Classic" pickups want to rock - power chords are heard with a lot of thrust, single notes are wonderfully creamy and singing. But even without distortion the guitar cuts a top figure with a really nice sparkle from the speakers. If you want a great Les Paul with a visible history and the best practical value at a top price, you can't go wrong here! Surprisingly the frets have virtually no visible traces of use.
