Here we have one of the first Les Pauls to leave the newly formed Custom Shop in 1993 in what is known as the "Historic Series". This '57 Les Paul Goldtop Historic Reissue was purchased by the first owner in 1993 and has never left the case since. The buyer was a pure collector and we were the first to see the light of the guitar after 30 years. Even the original strings were still in good condition. The guitar is untouched in mint condition and certainly one of the best preserved witnesses of the founding year of the Gibson Custom Shop. And this Les Paul has also a great sound. Plugged into an amp, you don't notice its 30 years of hibernation in any way. Super dynamic, open and with a great smacking tone. The neck has a rather strong profile and plays great with the untouched frets. All in all a top goldtop with best value and play and sound characteristics! First choice for players and collectors!
