It is truly remarkable what great guitars keep coming out of Gibson's Murphy Lab. This is also the case with this fantastic 1957 Goldtop in the "Ultra Heavy Aging" finish. It is phenomenal how countless hairline cracks, lacquer abrasion and characteristic wear marks pour over the patinated surface. With the gold finish in particular this results in an extremely interesting look that constantly changes depending on the respective perspective. The authentically aged hardware certainly matches this. However, the phenomenal darkback of this Paula is particularly worth mentioning. A greasy color, superbly aged and with almost matte finish the Les Paul looks as if it has been roaming the clubs for decades. The feel and sound are also top notch! When playing you immediately notice the super comfortable ideal weight of just 3870 grams, the comfortable Chunky-C profile of the neck, which sits really well in the hand, the typical 12'' fingerboard radius and the tried and tested "Historic Gibson Narrow/Tall" frets. These are perfectly dressed so that you can whizz across the wonderfully dark rosewood fingerboard without any speed limit. In terms of sound you are dealing with the absolute top league. The unpotted Alnico-III Custombuckers together with the guitar's superb vibration behavior deliver the classic, smacking 57 PAF sound. Direct, differentiated with a fast response. Warm, full-bodied with an extra portion of bite, which you can really use with distorted sounds. Fortunately with this fantastic Les Paul you don't have to decide whether it's a work of art or a killer player. We are delighted to be able to offer you both facets of this dream instrument in mint condition.
