Gibson Les Paul 54 Florian Jäger Bavarian Makeover I Oxblood (2022)

Here we have a special treat for all those who want to get as close as possible to a genuine '54 Les Paul. The previous owner has given a selected '54 Paula from the Gibson Custom Shop an elaborate and expensive tuning as part of a “Florian Jäger Bavarian Makeover I” including a tailpiece relock, reworking of the top arch and the neck. A truly great job was done on the fabulous Oxblood finish using the authentic aniline dyes and fillers of the 1950s. The subtle but thorough aging creates a fantastically greasy vintage patina, which with its matt sheen makes it quite believable that this Les Paul has been around for more than 70 years. Everything here is truly vintage-correct, from the top contours and the position of the tailpiece to the font of the serial number and the gold color of the logo on the headstock. The playing feel is also phenomenal thanks to the rounded fingerboard edges, a comfortable medium neck profile and the dream weight of just 3480 grams(!). ...and to complete the great look black and silver reflector knobs have been installed here (the original speed knobs are of course included). In terms of sound you are dealing with the characteristic sound of Gibson's P90 pickups, resonant, penetrating and bony. Exactly the sound that we have known and loved for seven decades now. Here everything is possible from bright Funk to warm Blues to earthy Rock in absolute top form. In terms of sound, appearance and player characteristics this custom-made guitar is simply in the absolute top class!
