The original "Dutchburst" with the serial number 0-1167, an extraordinary guitar with a fascinating history, is now owned by Robbert van der Ende, who acquired the guitar from the son of the original owner in 2012. It is a rare special order guitar from 1960, which the original owner, a working musician from Holland, played as part of a Jazz trio on cruise ships. In 2014 the Gibson Custom Shop released a detailed replica of this special Les Paul, limited to 300 specimens, and we are delighted to be able to offer you serial number 43 here. The above-average finish of the guitar shows a coffee to caramel color of the Burst and thus proves the status of the original as a Darkburst special order. The slightly flatter neck is by no means as slim as some of the earlier Slim-Tapers. Rather it is ideal for all those for whom the 59 necks are still a little too thick. I would say that we are dealing here with an extremely comfortable, "fast" medium profile that lies between a 59 and the flatter Slim Taper. It plays outstandingly well in combination with this Paula's ideal weight of just 3930 grams. I can only think of one word for the sound: Tone Monster! This guitar resonates incredibly well and has a very characterful, smacking, differentiated sound. Ideal for all classic Rock sounds! The sun also rises here with the singing lead sounds: sustain at its finest! We can offer you this phenomenal Paula in top condition except for minimal traces of use on the first frets.
