This Les Paul is of course visually reminiscent of the Jimmy Page Les Paul, which comes in a similar color and the bridge humbucker without the cap. Here, however, we have a 1958 reissue that even comes with a more clearly grained flametop. The highlight of the guitar, besides the beautiful Darkburst top, is its sound. With just under 4230 gramm it is not one of the light Les Pauls, but here every gram resonates. Even without distortion, the sustain really blows you away. Whether chords or singlenotes, everything sounds eternally long and the overtones just ooze out of this guitar. You don't experience such a vibrant Les Paul every day. A good part of the fantastic sound is also contributed by the Kloppmann HB59 humbuckers, against which the previous owner exchanged the original Custombuckers (these are included and can be reinstalled at any time). These are Kloppmann's most popular PAF reissues, and they really do deliver exactly the deep, three-dimensional sound you know and love from the vintage originals. You can't get more Burst feeling than that! The neck has a very pleasant 58 profile, so it's a bit beefier than the 59 necks, but nowhere near "baseball bat" territory. Aside from the pickup rebuild, the guitar comes with only minimal signs of use.
