Les Paul Specials in “TV Yellow” are rare birds and we have always been fans of these great guitars. And here we have a fantastic example in the Single-Cut version with a very neat TV Yellow. This traditional color is very authentic on this Special and looks like an old, faded original. Although this is a 1960s reissue it is by no means a flatter 60s neck. With this C-neck you have a good grip, but it is by no means too fat. It has a nice grip with the rounded shoulders and is extremely comfortable to play. And of course the more powerful neck gives the guitar plenty of tone! Anyone expecting a slimmed-down, thinner Les Paul sound here will be bitterly disappointed - this Les Paul is literally dripping with sound. Juicy, fat, but always with the transparency and clarity of P90 pickups, the Special is convincing all along the musical line. Direct, percussive, smacking, simply pure 'Rock'n'Roll. Perfect for lush Blues, crunchy Rock, but crisp funk lines also come into their own here. Simply the perfect P90 axe for extensive playing, which comes to its future owner in top condition except for the usual minimal hairline cracks in the fingerboard binding.
