The year 1961 brought big changes to the Gibson Les Paul, most notably a slim, all-new mahogany body design with double cutaway that would later be renamed the SG. To celebrate the 60th birthday of this legendary Les Paul SG the Gibson Custom Shop came up with something very special and presented the 60th Anniversary model of the '61 SG Custom in Classic White with gold hardware and Sideways Vibrola tremolo. Of course with three Custombuckers, Black Beauty capacitors, CTS pots and Grover tuners. And despite the third pickup and additional Vibrola hardware the SG at hand here comes in at a comfortable weight of just 4060 grams and plays great with its Authentic-'61 Thin-Profile neck. The mahogany construction of neck and body gives it the wonderfully dense and sustain-rich sound that is typical of Gibson guitars. At the amp the sun really comes up here: a fantastic tone that cuts through great, beautifully grippy and smacking. Direct, dynamic SG sound, optimal for distorted rhythm riffs but also for wonderful singing lead sounds. Clearly this Les Paul SG is not just for AC/DC and Black Sabbath, but can also play Blues, Jazz and even Funk in the best manner. We are happy to offer you this collector's item (including the frets) in mint condition.
