Here we have a fantastic Gibson L-5 CESN Masterlabel Natural Blonde from 2019, which was made in the Crimson department of the Gibson Custom Shop, which is known for producing only the very best instruments from the finest woods and materials. We've had several L-5s over the years, but with this semi-hollow the guys at the Custom Shop have really created a small work of art. The hand-carved spruce top is very tight and evenly grained, the maple back and sides are extremely figured, have a wonderful three-dimensional effect and probably the coolest bookmatching we've ever seen. The maple neck is also intensely and evenly flamed. Gold-colored hardware, a "flower pot" inlay on the headstock and a fingerboard made of deep dark ebony match this elegant appearance. Thanks to the “ES Rounded” neck profile it is super comfortable to glide over the fretboard and the sound is of course pure Jazz! When played dry you don't miss an amp at all. This is how an L-5 should sound! Warm, resonant and open sound with a top sustain and a great tone. On the amp the “Classic 57” humbuckers transmit the warm basic character of the guitar in the best possible way and you can enjoy every single note. Despite the pleasant warmth the guitar is extremely balanced and differentiated. L-5s are by no means easy to come by. They are only produced on request by the Gibson Custom Shop and therefore have a very long waiting time. We are therefore extremely pleased to be able to offer you this blonde dream of every Jazz player except for minimal signs of wear in mint condition.
