Gibson L-00 Original Ebony (2024)

The Gibson L-00: a small, handy body with vintage charm and balanced tonality! At the beginning of the 20th century Gibson was a pioneer in the development of small-body guitars, i.e. guitars in a small, handy size, with its “Small Body L Series”. Based on these original instruments smaller top-quality guitars are still manufactured in Bozeman, MT, today. But don't be fooled by the size of the acoustic, as the solid tonewoods and scalloped bracing produce a powerful and precise sound that you would only expect from much larger body shapes. And yet every single string is clearly perceptible, ideal for picking and Folk! Fast response, plenty of attack, the necessary fullness in the sound and perfectly balanced, ...it doesn't get any better than this! The L-00 also impresses with its phenomenal manageability and the neck with its comfortable Slim Taper profile fits perfectly in the hand. Of course the classic, elegant look should also be mentioned here: a wonderful Ebony finish with traditional vintage attributes such as Gibson lettering in historic white script, Golden Age tuners, a discreet cream-colored binding and of course the classic L-00 pickguard. To round off the great overall package the guitar has an L.R.Baggs “Element VTC” pickup of the latest generation, which was specially coordinated for this instrument as an active piezo pickup and can be adjusted via a discreet volume and tone control in the edge of the sound hole. It is hardly surprising that this great acoustic was also played with pleasure, as can be seen from the one or other trace of use, which is of course unavoidable with a deep black finish. Otherwise it is including the frets in very good condition and will certainly give its future owner great pleasure.
