First introduced to the public in 1942, the J-45 is considered the "workhorse" of round-shoulder dreadnoughts and became the standard for numerous bluegrass, folk and country artists in the 1940s and 1950s. Since that time, this acoustic guitar has enjoyed enormous popularity because of its rich, warm, and vocal tone, as well as thanks to excellent playability. Today, this Gibson acoustic guitar is played by musicians such as Bob Dylan, Ralph McTell, Billy Jo Armstrong and Lucinda Williams. This True Vintage variant has tremendous vibrancy and exudes pure vintage vibe, the Vintage Sunburst finish just looks great. The top is made of Adirondack red spruce, the sides and back are made of Honduras mahogany, glued with cantilevered hide-glue, topped off with a teardrop tortoiseshell pickguard, a four-ply top binding and a banner headstock inlay with the inscription "Only A Gibson Is Good Enough". The medium-bodied neck with V-shape profile feels great in the hand and, together with the handy body, ensures the very best playability. Sound-wise, this acoustic convinces with its warm, classic, somewhat earthy and at the same time velvety tone in the very best manner. Here you have the perfect working instrument for singer/songwriter! Of course, the guitar has been played a lot during the last years, which shows in the one or other trace of use. But the frets are in top condition.
