It is not for nothing that Gibson calls the J-250 Monarch the “King of Flat Tops”. This dream guitar, the pinnacle of the Gibson Custom Shop's craftsmanship, is only available on request and to order, with the corresponding waiting times of course. It is only ever made individually in consecutive numbers. It is not only one of the most elaborate guitars ever built by Gibson in terms of features and workmanship, but also the absolute Jumbo reference in terms of sound. A Monarch is not just a guitar to play, it is a complete passion for music, whether you are a collector, a musician or an enthusiast. A dream in all respects! Made in Bozeman, Montana, the Jumbo body comes with a solid AAA Sitka spruce top and premium rosewood back and sides. Beautiful abalone inlays on the rosette, binding, moustache bridge, headstock and truss rod cover. “King's Crown” fingerboard inlays made of mother-of-pearl and abalone, gold-colored engraved Waverly tuners as well as “Flowers and Dots” engravings on the deep dark faux-tortoise pickguard... The list of exclusive features on this acoustic is almost endless. Its medium neck with the “Traditional Round” profile sits perfectly in the hand making the guitar extremely smooth to play despite its voluminous body. In terms of sound it offers an enormous balance in the bass, mid and treble range and an ideal tone for finger- or flatpicking. Powerful resonance, super present with a huge sound! The bass resonates extremely well and its sustain makes this acoustic a real treat for the ears. It should also be noted that the guitar comes to its future owner without a certificate as this was not yet available for Gibson Acoustics in 2013. We are delighted to be able to offer you this epitome of boundless exclusivity in top condition with minimal signs of use.
