Gibson Hummingbird Dark Eric Church Signature (2016)

The Gibson Hummingbird has been a staple of the acoustic guitar scene since its release in the early 1960s. This Gibson Acoustic Eric Church Dark Hummingbird shares many of the construction elements of the original model, such as the solid Sitka spruce top, back, sides and neck made of beautiful mahogany and the beautifully inlaid fingerboard. But the Hummingbird at hand also carves out its own niche with its thinner body depth, allowing the guitar's tone to emerge with enormous focus and without annoying feedback at high stage volumes. Its aesthetics in an enchanting “Translucent Ebony Burst” finish come directly from Eric Church's artistic vision. This strictly limited edition model also features attractive mother-of-pearl inlays adorning the dark rosewood fingerboard and a hand-painted black and red pickguard to set it apart from the usual “acoustic crowd”. Furthermore, the Eric Church is equipped with the popular VTC acoustic pickup system from L.R. Baggs, which has a flat under-saddle pickup, which slim and effective design dispenses with unnecessary internal components in order to increase the sensitivity of the pickup. This makes for a robust, lively and natural acoustic sound. And this sound is indeed phenomenal: extremely balanced, warm, rich, very open and direct with pearly highs and a super response. Perfect for fingerpickers! The acoustic also impresses across the board in terms of playability as its pleasant medium neck profile sits perfectly in the hand. Apart from minimal traces of use and wear, which are unavoidable with a black finish, the guitar is in top condition. Unfortunately the previous owner lost the original case and the certificate during a move. But instead this fine workhorse comes in a genuine “Gibson Acoustics” case and at an absolute bargain price!
