The story goes that Jimi Hendrix ordered a Flying V from Gibson in 1969, based on the 1967 model with a larger pickguard. This was the first Flying V built as a custom order, and Jimi asked that they add gold hardware and inlays à la Trini Lopez. We are happy to offer you here an exact replica of this guitar. Limited to 400 pieces, the Hall-of-Fame edition Jimi Hendrix Flying V Signature was offered only from 1991 to 1993. It features unique split-tringle inlays, a tune-o-matic bridge, and a stopbar tailpiece. With its pleasantly light mahogany body, maple neck with comfortable medium profile and grippy rosewood fingerboard it plays at its finest. Its classy black look with white pickguard and gold hardware is of course immediately convincing and when you see the replicated signature of the greatest guitarist of all time on the pickguard, you know that this is a very special guitar with high rarity value. The sound of the two humbuckers immediately reminds you of "Dolly Dagger" and you can see Jimi's performance at the Isle of Wight festival in 1970 in your mind's eye. Of course, when you think of this Flying V you think of collectors and Hendrix fans, but we would also like to recommend this sound-powerful beauty to all players because of its tone and its top playability. The previous owner has played in the guitar well, you can see and hear that: some signs of use on the guitar and case, dings and dongs, but nothing major. The frets are in top condition. Simply all around a great guitar with best value retention!
