The Firebird will probably remain forever associated with the name Johnny Winter. No wonder Gibson dedicates a limited tribute model of this iconic guitar to the Blues legend from time to time. In 2021 Murphy Lab took on the challenge of recreating Johnny's white '64 Firebird in every detail. Most obvious are the plugged holes of the former Maestro vibrola, which Johnny traded for a stoptail and tailpiece, and the missing reflector of the volume knob on the neck. But also the aging was exactly copied from the original. Period correct the guitar comes with a full-length, five-piece neck made of mahogany and walnut. Two hand-wired Alnico-V Firebird Mini-Humbuckers provide the typical nasal Firebird sound in top form. The neck with its authentic 64 profile is just right for those who like to hold a little more in their hands when bluesing - but of course it whizzes across the fretboard without any problems thanks to the usual custom store quality in frets and string action. We can offer you serial number 056 of 125 built specimens in mint condition. Also included is the extra case candy in form of a bottleneck and a photo of Johnny, hand-signed by photography legend Mick Rock.
