Today we can offer you a very "rare bird": a Gibson Firebird 64 Collectors Choice CC47. In 2017 the Gibson Custom Shop released this exact replica of a Firebird III from 1964 with the serial number #235304, reverse body and Cherry finish in a limited edition of 300 specimens, using laser scans and precise studies of materials and finish to replicate the original in the most meticulous detail. Originally introduced in 1960, the Firebird was designed by the legendary Ted McCarty borrowing from automotive design with features that were extremely daring at the time. Over the years it has been played by numerous Blues, Rock and Slide players such as Johnny Winter, Allen Collins and Clarence "Gatemouth" Brown, who made music history with this instrument. The CC47 is unique in many ways in that, compared to most other CC models, it comes with a more subtle aging and for Firebirds a rather rare Cherry finish. Matching this is the chrome-colored, artfully aged hardware, which gives the guitar a great vintage look. Handwound "Custom Firebird Mini Humbuckers" are used as pickups, which provide its characteristic, slightly nasal "bell-like" tone. The fantastic overall package is rounded off by a smooth-running Maestro vibrola and the extremely comfortable, medium-strength "Firebird Custom" neck. All in all, an absolute top player with a highly authentic vintage look, a very unique sound, for which Firebirds have been loved for more than 60 years, and the best value retention! We are pleased to be able to offer you this "Scott Softy" apart from a few minor signs of use in top condition. You should not miss out on this bird...
