It is really unbelievable what the guys from Murphy LAB deliver here in aging and painting. This ES 355 looks so damn real old that you really think you have a real old ES 355 in your hand. The color "Watermelon Red" is based on a somewhat faded Cherry Red and captures the natural aging process of the lacquer exactly. The guitar has numerous hairline cracks and dings and dongs.... super authentic. The dark ebony fingerboard, block inlays and yellowed and aged binding complete the successful look. The neck has a medium 59 profile, so not too thick. Plays very comfortable. Soundwise the guitar is in no way inferior to the look. Nice and round and percussive with a great attack, which is probably due to the solid ebony fingerboard. In general, the guitar has a very characteristic tone. Somewhere between ES 335 and Les Paul. The guitar is as good as unplayed and has no play marks on the frets.
