By now we know that guitars resulting from the collaboration between Jörg Hermann and Gibson's Murphy Lab are always something very special. But what the guys have delivered here is truly unparalleled. With this special order for Musikhaus Hermann, a Gibson ES-335 1963, which was made in the Custom Shop in Nashville, the phenomenal finish in Antique Viking Red with the super authentic Light Aging of the Murphy Lab immediately catches the eye. It's beautiful to see how the distinctive grain of the "Factory Special Rockford AAA Figured Maple" top penetrates through the extra-thin nitro lacquer, enhanced by an aging that results in a perfect look and feel. The Custom Shop and Jörg Hermann have paid close attention to the selection of the woods, resulting in this ES-335 with a dream weight of just 3590 grams. The neck-body joint was glued with hide-glue in a historically correct manner, the truss rod was inserted into the neck without a rubber ring, the dark rosewood fingerboard is of course made from just one piece and the binding was made according to the specifications of 1959 using old machines from the 1950s. The "MHH 1963 Shape" neck profile, which is not too thick, sits perfectly in the hand and guarantees the very best playability. The unpotted MHH Custombuckers (neck: Alnico-III NPC MBMR, bridge: Alnico-III NPC HBMR) is a very special highlight that conjures up a great tone from this extremely resonant guitar with truly endless sustain. Super differentiated on the neck without mud and mulch, beautifully bell-like with the very slight Strat character familiar from old PAFs. Smacking at the bridge with an excellent response and direct reaction to every nuance of attack. Pearly highs, pushing mids with a special airy openness in the sound. We are delighted to be able to offer you this semi-hollow, a dreamlike feast for the eyes and ears, in mint, virtually unplayed condition.
