When you think of semi-hollows in classic Cherry Red, you inevitably think of Eric Clapton's “Hare Krishna'” ES. And Keith Richards also likes to show off a red beauty from Gibson. “Cherry Red” is simply the most characteristic color for an ES-335 and in combination with the Heavy Aging of the Murphy Lab it provides a dreamlike dark red weathered vintage patina, sometimes a little matt, sometimes greasy, a wonderfully "rocked" finish with countless hairline cracks as well as larger and smaller flaws. This is exactly how you would imagine a genuine, old ES-335 that has been played over many decades. A special visual and tactile experience! This top instrument was made by hand in the Gibson Custom Shop in Nashville, TN, with special attention to detail. With its “Authentic '61 Skinny C” neck profile, the comfortable back of the neck and the 22 Medium Jumbo frets this ES is the very best to play. This neck profile is by no means as flat as the usual “Slim Taper”, you have a little more in your hand here, making it a real pleasure to whizz over the dark rosewood fingerboard. This joy of playing only increases when you hear the sound of the guitar. The unpotted Custombuckers Alnico-III are wonderfully fat and smacky with the characteristic extra airiness in the sound, which is a real joy not only for clean chords but also for distorted Blues riffs. A great overall package that combines a classically beautiful appearance with the very best semi-hollow sounds and great playing characteristics. The guitar is including the frets in mint condition.
