Basically you can assume that 90% of the instruments we see from John Cruz are Stratocasters. But when we are lucky enough to get hold of a Telecaster from this masterbuilder, we definitely know that it's going to be a cracking piece. This is also the case with this '64 Tele, which comes to its future owner with an ultra-reliced “Black” finish, an assorted ash body and a “Dark Tint” neck. In terms of aging, this guitar is as expected in the absolute top league: countless hairline cracks, minor and above all major flaws and considerable paint abrasion adorn the guitar and give it a phenomenal vintage patina. The white-yellowed Fender brand logo and an extremely attractive cream-colored binding on the body and fingerboard were incorporated here as a special recognition feature of this irretrievable one-off, making the guitar look really good. In terms of sound and playability the Telecaster also impresses us across the board. The neck with its modern features such as the “Modern C” profile, 9.5-12'' compound radius and 6105 frets, as well as a "Hardtail Vintage Strat"-Bridge not only invites you to play it without limits, but is also super comfortable to play in combination with an ideal weight of just 3150 grams. In terms of sound, Cruz uses a Seymour Duncan SH1 pickup on the neck and a Seymour Duncan “Pearly Gates” on the bridge for absolutely fat and rich sounds. But you don't miss an amp even when you play it dry. The guitar vibrates brilliantly and is wonderfully loud when dry. Even unamplified you can hear that the Tele is extremely differentiated with a wonderfully broad frequency spectrum. It then develops a fantastic tone on the amp: clear, open and fresh. The two humbuckers suit the guitar perfectly. It sings and smacks that it is a real joy. From juicy Blues on the neck to roasting Rock on the bridge, everything is represented here in top form. The fact that John Cruz has also left the Fender Custom Shop and that such perfect one-offs will hardly ever be found again should only be mentioned here as a refreshing side note... So we are pleased to be able to offer you the Telecaster in top condition except for minimal play marks on the first frets.
