In 2004 John Cruz took the original and built an exact replica of the Strat that accompanied Stevie Ray throughout his career in a limited edition. Only 100 were built and by now the "Tribute" Number One is one of the most sought after custom store Strats. Besides all the collector and investment aspects, this Strat also convinces as a player all along the line. From the first notes, it's clear which sound was the inspiration here: the clear, pearly tones of "Texas Flood", "Pride & Joy" and "Lenny", but also the wild, distorted Hendrix licks of "Vodoo Child" and "Purple Haze".
