What to say about this guitar? The legendary Number One Strat by Stevie Ray Vaughan in the Masterbuilt version can certainly be called the Holy Grail of the Fender Custom Shop. ...and this particular version from the hand of David Brown, a newcomer to the fascinating ranks of new master builders, really blew us away. Produced in an extremely limited edition this replica of the Strat that accompanied Stevie Ray throughout his career has a unique vintage patina, the relicing is extremely detailed but not at all overdone, giving this Stratocaster a super authentic look. On the one hand this is certainly a guitar you'll want to add to your collection, but aside from the legend and all the collector aspects this Strat is especially compelling as a player. From the first notes, it's clear which sound was the inspiration here: the clear, pearly tones of "Texas Flood," "Pride & Joy" and "Lenny," but also the wild, distorted Hendrix licks of "Vodoo Child" and "Purple Haze." The Handwound Texas Special pickups are simply a joy to use, Texas Blues sound at its finest. The neck with Oval-C SRV-tribute profile, 12'' radius and 6100 jumbo frets is grippy in the hand and offers state-of-the-art playing comfort.
