"Sultans of Swing," "Brothers in Arms," "Once Upon a Time in the West" - these are the songs, this is the unmistakable sound of Mark Knopfler, one of the most distinguished Strat players of recent decades. And when you think of this unique virtuoso, the image of his fiesta-red Stratocaster inevitably comes to mind. In 2010 Knopfler was honored by Fender USA by releasing the Mark Knopfler Signature model, which has some special features. Thus, following the original of the Dire Straits guitarist, the wood for the 57 ash body was selected for weight and quality and a maple neck (7.25'' radius) in accordance with the early 60s was combined with a rosewood fingerboard and medium jumbo frets. The present specimen with a pleasant weight of 3350 grams offers a great vibration behavior, the neck lies excellently in the hand and virtually craves for radiant leads à la Knopfler. The very fresh and lively sounding Texas Special singlecoils transmit the sound of this red icon in the best manner to the amp and conjure up a big grin on your face: bluesy, warm and belly, just as you know it from Mark Knopfler! This beautiful Strat with historical significance has been played extensively over the last 13 years and it shows: even though the protective folio is still on the pickguard there are some minor dings and dongs and several scratches on the top and back. The frets, however, are in top condition except for minimal playing marks.
