Fender Stratocaster Ltd Clapton "Blackie" Journeyman 30th Anniversary (2018)

With the "Fender Limited Edition Eric Clapton 30th Anniversary Stratocaster" the British Blues virtuoso and the Fender Custom Shop celebrated the 30th anniversary of their jointly developed signature guitar. For the construction of the 30th Anniversary Strat the Fender Custom Shop relied on traditional construction methods and excellent woods. Accordingly the body was made of carefully selected alder, the neck of the highest quality maple and the whole thing was rounded off by an extremely authentic Journeyman relicing, which gives the noble black finish a beautiful vintage patina. Of course, in keeping with the original the guitar features an "Eric Clapton V-Shape" neck profile and Vintage Upgrade frets. Together with the 9.5'' radius and the stripped neck back this offers the very best playing characteristics. To transmit the sound of this already dry enormously resonant guitar to the amp three Noiseless pickups are used. These provide slightly more sustain due to the weaker magnetic field, but produce a slightly higher and more balanced output signal. In addition, a midrange boost (0-25 dB) was installed, which allows the Stratocaster's singlecoil sound to be boosted in the direction of a humbucker sound, giving the Strat incredible tonal versatility. Clean extremely open, pearly, clear and with each change of the Midboost control the sound gets a little fatter up to sounds à la Cream and Derek & the Dominos. Furthermore, a TBX Tone control is used to adjust the sound, which, through the clever use of a center-gridded double potentiometer, allows both the usual attenuation of the treble and the accentuation of bass and treble. The previous owner removed the wooden block that blocks the tremolo like on Eric's guitar and upgraded the volume poti (wooden block and original poti included). Otherwise, the guitar is in top condition except for minimal signs of use.
