Fender Stratocaster Hank Marvin Custom Shop Limited (1995)

Here we have a Stratocaster from the early days of the Fender Custom Shop, the so-called Cunetto era. You can tell straight away that this instrument has been swung in for 30 years. It resonates superbly and has a great attack! This is a specimen of the first regular edition of the signature Strat of Hank Marvin, legendary guitarist of the Shadows, limited to 250 pieces. It is said that Hank received the original from Cliff Richard and that it was one of the first Stratocasters to be brought to the UK. ...and what an incredible beauty this Stratocaster is! Wonderful Fiesta Red with classy gold hardware and a birdseye mapleneck so attractive it makes your mouth water. As classic as the look is - the playing feel is definitely in modern times with the comfortable, medium C profile, the 9.6” fingerboard radius and the 22(!) Medium/Jumbo frets. And that's a good thing, because it makes playing the old Shadows hits twice as much fun! Two Seymour Duncan “Vintage Staggered SSL1” on the neck and in the middle and a Di Marzio FS-1 on the bridge are used here for the perfect sound. Brilliant, clear, with lots of twang, but still without harsh highs and with enough belly - that's what you want from a really good Hank Marvin Strat! Whether it's his old hits or Blues, Rock, Pop and Funk, this guitar delivers everything with plenty of character. The push/pull pots, which in conjunction with the 5-way switch allows any pickup combination, must of course also be mentioned with regard to the wide range of sound possibilities. A special feature here is an additional short vibrato lever as known from the David Gilmour Strat. It's the perfect length, if you want to embellish chords with a little tremolo in the style of the 50s - we didn't want to unscrew it after a short time! Now you're probably wondering why we're offering this exclusive dream guitar, which now usually fetches prices in excess of EUR 10,000, at such a phenomenally low price. This has to do with the fact that the previous owner temporarily replaced the pickups (the original ones have since been reinstalled) and also installed a new truss rod, which is now adjustable from behind. If you can live with this negligible shortcoming, you will get an absolute top Strat, which is otherwise in top condition, at an absolute top price.
