Rare, rarer, "Blackie" interpreted by masterbuilder John Cruz! We are extremely pleased to be able to offer you such a legendary rarity today. Clapton's black Stratocaster, his most-used guitar, originated when he bought several new Strats in 1970 and had "Blackie" created from their best parts. He played it then from 1973 to 1985. The special interpretation of this musical icon by the great John Cruz in an elegant, deep black NOS (New Old Stock) finish with a phenomenal AAA flamed maple neck and the proven, low-noise Vintage Noiseless pickups is something very special for several reasons. On the one hand Cruz always manages to put his very own signature on even well-known guitars with unique specs. Secondly, a "Blackie" from his workshop has always been as rare as a four-leaf clover and its rarity value has certainly only increased since Cruz left the Fender Custom Shop. Due to a weaker magnetic field the pickups here offer slightly more sustain, but produce a slightly higher and more balanced output signal. This Strat also has a mid-range boost (0-25 dB), which can be used to boost the singlecoil sound in the direction of a humbucker sound. This gives the Stratocaster incredible tonal versatility. In keeping with the original the tremolo is blocked here and the "Clapton V-Shape" neck profile is used in conjunction with Vintage Style frets ensuring the very best playability. Even clean the guitar has an extremely open, sparkling and clear sound and with every change of the midboost control another soundscape of Clapton's musical journey can be visited. As the guitar comes from a collector's hand we can offer it to you in absolutely top condition.
