In 1995, the Fender Custom Shop released a special highlight: a Superstrat with an arched top, flametop, HSS fittings, roller saddle and two-point locking tremolo. However, the prototypes for this model were made a year earlier for the NAMM show. We are proud to offer you from this first run the guitar with serial number 0003. It was built by masterbuilder Gene Baker and does not differ significantly from the later production model. The beautiful top with flamed wood binding and the birdseye maple neck with pearl inlays make this Strat a real eye-catcher and in the hand it proves to be a versatile player. Thanks to the roller saddle and locking mechanism, the tremolo works without detuning, and the strings can be changed in no time thanks to the locking tuners. The neck has an easy-grip medium C-profile. Sound-wise, you get crystal-clear singlecoil tones here and fat rock tones at the bridge - just like you want to hear from an HSS Strat. A curious detail: While the production model became known as the "Carved Top" Strat, the prototype is still called "Curved Top" according to the certificate. The guitar has been a pure collector's item so far and is in mint condition.
