This '69 Heavy Relic Strat comes from the so-called Garage Mod series by masterbuilder Jason Smith. At the end of the 60s and beginning of the 70s Strats were tinkered with a lot in order to customize them. Jason Smith took a few of these modified originals and rebuilt them by hand with great attention to detail. The striking feature here is the awesome look. The unique color combination "Sherwood Green over Aged Cherry Sunburst" really comes into its own thanks to the merciless, super authentic Heavy Relicing. The pickups are two "Handwound Red Hot" singlecoils on the neck and in the middle and a "Handwound Tele Texas Special" on the bridge. This is where twang meets fat Strat sounds! Thanks to the ingenious on/off switch the neck pickup can always be added in, allowing three additional pickup combinations. This is where a pithy, powerful basic character meets pure sound diversity! The 1969 U-neck profile sits comfortably in the hand and is not too bulky. 6100 Jumbo frets and a modern 12" fretboard radius round off the phenomenal Strat. We can offer you this unique instrument in top condition.
