Ron Thorn - quite simply the masterbuilder of the Fender Custom Shop when it comes to HSS Strats! And when he builds a guitar, you can be sure that even the smallest detail is carefully thought out in terms of look, playability and sound. Such is the case here with this 1963 Super Heavy Relic in HSS finish: all specs are so finely tuned that you can't help but be fascinated by the overall package. The phenomenal sunburst look with the spectacular aging and black pickguard of course immediately reminds you of Stevie Ray Vaughan's No.1 and promises a robust vintage feeling, which is confirmed as soon as you pick up the Strat. The neck back without varnish feels played for decades, the classic 9.5" fingerboard radius and the 6105 narrow/tall frets ensure best playability. And the pickup combination of two slightly hotter handwound Poblano singlecoils on the neck and middle with a Seymour Duncan Pearly-Gates humbucker on the bridge deliver an excellent hotrod vintage sound. As soon as you plug this Stratocaster into your amp things really take off: from hot but super-belly Texas Blues at the neck to pearly, smacky Funk tones in the intermediate positions to roasting Rock boards with PAF characteristics at the bridge, everything is at its finest here. If you're looking for an all-around Strat with hot vintage style, you definitely shouldn't wait too long here! The guitar is in mint condition.
