Michael "the Man" Landau, one of the most sought-after American studio musicians, who has supported countless artists such as Steve Lukather, Pink Floyd, Michael Jackson and Miles Davis on their recordings and released numerous solo albums, is not only known for his unique guitar playing but also for his fat Strat sound. Of course the Fender Custom Shop had to dedicate a signature guitar to this exceptional guitarist. ...and the Strat at hand from this signature series by masterbuilder Todd Krause in the rarer "Fiesta Red over 3-Tone Sunburst" is impressive across the board. In addition to the classically beautiful finish, refined by detailed relicing, it impresses above all with its characteristic sound. The special thing about the Landau Strats is that Josefina Handwound Fat 50s pickups are mounted on a 60s-style Strat. These combine the attack and belly of a typical 50s maple-neck Strat with the warmth and balance of a rosewood construction. The result is simply an incredibly fat, but also glassy tone that never becomes harsh or too biting. In addition, the Landau-Strat has an unusual custom pickup circuit with the first tone control going to the neck and middle pickup and the second controlling the treble spectrum of the bridge pickup. The comfortable "Custom Mid 60s Oval C" neck profile, a 7.25" radius, a stripped back neck and the proven 6105-Narrow/Jumbo frets ensure a perfect playing feel, so that you can sweep over the deep dark, "round laminated" AAA rosewood fingerboard with greatest pleasure. We are delighted to be able to offer you this top instrument including the frets in mint condition.
