Fender Stratocaster 63 Heavy Relic Masterbuilt Dale Wilson (2022)

Unofficially, Fender Custom Shop masterbuilder Dale Wilson goes by the name "Relic King" and when you see this Stratocaster you'll know why. The faded 3-tone sunburst finish with heavy relicing shows an incredibly authentic appearance as you would expect from old vintage Strats that have been played extensively over the last six decades. Considerable paint wear in all the right places, a multitude of hairline cracks, major and minor quirks and a beautifully matte shimmering patina. Due to the tasteful combination with a black pickguard one must of course immediately think of Stevie Ray Vaughan's No.1 when looking at the guitar's front. Interestingly, however, the back also evokes immediate associations by making you think of Mike McCready's Strat. But Dale Wilson did not only capture the look of the old Strats but also the sound. Handwound Josefina Poblano pickups are used here, which are comparatively a little hotter wound and have always been one of my favorites: pearly, bell-like sound, balanced with a slight compression familiar from old Strats.In terms of playability we also have a treat here: the neck with its 60-style Oval-C profile and 9.5'' radius is extremely comfortable in the hand and plays so well in conjunction with the tried-and-true 6105 Narrow/Tall frets that you won't want to put this guitar down. When you look at this killer Strat with its perfect combination of authentic vintage look, best Stratocaster sound and phenomenal playability you understand why the current waiting times for a new Dale Wilson guitar are up to 9 years(!). If you don't want to wait that long, you should get this dream guitar, which we can offer in mint, nearly unplayed condition without any play marks on the frets.
