I am particularly fond of this John Cruz Strat. I originally owned it and it was always my favorite John Cruz Strat. So I'm all the more pleased that it has found its way back to us. Rarely has a guitar inspired me as much as this Stratocaster. It was built as part of a limited series for Pro Guitars. And this guitar was clearly inspired by the John Mayer No.1. Since the Black One was no longer allowed to be built, this guitar is as close as possible. Black heavy relicing and super authentic, especially on the back, the deluxe styling tuners with the white pearloid buttons, custom compound radius, a sorted body and the Narrow/Tall frets for the very best playing comfort. The neck is simply brilliant in the hand, you won't want to stop playing. Super flamed back with the characteristic wooden feel. Josefina handwounds are used as pickups. Even though the spec sheet says “65 Handwounds” you know that the pickups were wound exclusively according to the very special John Cruz specs in order to come as close as possible to the John Mayer pickups. This series was featured in “Grand Guitars” magazine (of course the printout is enclosed). I can only rave about the sound here. Fantastically warm, bell-like sound with a slight compression, just like the real old Strats. Very dynamic and responds to the smallest nuances of playing. You want to play slowly to savor every note. Incredibly good instrument with the best playing comfort. If you are looking for an exceptional Strat, you will be in for a real treat. The guitar is in top condition.
