Stratocasters from John Cruz always guarantee the best guitar building skills and phenomenal sounds. This is also the case with this 1962 Heavy Relic Strat, where the masterbuilder legend has once again outdone himself. Sorted ash body with a fantastic grain, great "3-Tone Sunburst" finish, in which attention was paid to an above-average amount of red (Wide Red Band). The whole thing is enhanced by a Heavy Relicing that couldn't be more authentic. Cruz has not just limited himself to the usual features here, but has also applied the characteristic signs of aging that can be found on a real old guitar. In addition, this instrument enchants with an exceptionally beautiful flamed neck and a super dark rosewood fingerboard. And the aged brown-shell pickguard is yet another visual highlight. The proven "60 Style Oval C" neck profile, a 9.5'' fingerboard radius and the popular Narrow/Tall frets ensure the very best playability. Josefina Handwound Poblanos were used as pickups, which are wound a little hotter in comparison and have always impressed us: pearly, bell-like sound, balanced with a slight compression as we know it from old Strats. Wonderfully open and resonant with a broad frequency spectrum. Every nuance of attack is transmitted immediately and the overtones just sparkle out of the guitar. This Strat is an absolute hit at the very highest level in every respect. ...and the fact that John Cruz left the Fender Custom Shop in 2020 and will therefore no longer produce any more dream Fenders only increases the special and rare value of this outstanding Stratocaster. We are pleased to be able to offer you this gem in top condition except for slight traces of use on the first frets.
