Here we opened the case and looked with great melancholy at this perfect master Strat. Not because its incredible beauty or phenomenal sound would make us sad, but because we knew that this would probably be the very last time we would have to deal with such a "Pinup" from masterbuild legend John Cruz. Pinups will generally not be made in the Fender Custom Shop in the future and John Cruz has left Fender in June 2020. For these two reasons alone we have here an irretrievable instrument with the greatest rarity value! But what gives this guitar exceptional specialness beyond that is its unique selling point as one of only four guitars that belonged to the last batch that was worked on by John Cruz for Fender in early June 2020. These four guitars were part of a special order commissioned by Musikhaus Hermann. Jörg Hermann had specified the exact specs of this special pinup Stratocaster, which was then produced by John Cruz in this version only twice(!). ...and this version really has it all! Best playability thanks to the proven 6100 jumbo frets and a neck with lacquer-free back, 9.5'' radius and 60-Style Oval-C profile. Fantastic finish in "Relic Black over 3-Tone-Sunburst" with lots of hairline cracks, big and small quirks, as well as abrasions in prominent places. This killer look is only surpassed by the sound. The term "bell-like" gets a whole new dimension here. Even with the lightest nuances of touch an incredible vibration behavior develops. Rarely played a Strat that pearls in the intermediate positions like that. Here John Cruz has really delivered an unprecedented masterpiece. So, despite all the melancholy we are pleased to be able to offer you this top guitar in mint, almost unplayed condition.
