This extremely rare Dale Wilson "The Pinup" 61 Stratocaster was specially built by Dale Wilson for Musikhaus Hermann. It took exactly five years for the guitar to be delivered after it was ordered, and delivery times for a guitar like this are now around 10(!) years assuming Dale is still accepting new orders at all. It really is unbelievable what kind of instrument the legendary masterbuilder has created here. From the aging to the sound to the playability: absolute reference class! The aging and the finish can really be described as a work of art. The Faded Sonic Blue almost looks like yellowed Vintage White and you can see the different shades of varnish. Every trace of aging is extremely authentic and you definitely have the feeling of having a real old Strat in your hand. The neck also feels like it has been played for 50 years. It feels great in the hand with the slightly stronger "60 Style Oval C" shape and the fatter 6100 Jumbo frets. It really has a Stevie Ray Vaughan feel to it. Three special M.D. pickups (Master Designed),handwound by Josefina Campos, are used here. Together with the guitar's excellent vibration characteristics they conjure up classic vintage Strat sounds in top form. Beautifully bell-like, round and with a great tone. Super response! With this unique "The Pinup" Strat Dale Wilson once again clearly shows how high the bar can be set. If you don't want to wait ten years, you can look forward to a top Strat in mint condition. As a special treat it also comes with a signed autograph from Dale WIlson.
