For all those who love custom color Strats, here comes the ultimate treat from John Cruz! This 1960 Strat in "Olive Drab Green over Lake Placid Blue" in a classy NOS finish was one of the guitars that John Cruz brought to a Fender event in Duisburg's "Planet Hollywood" in 2015 to represent his craftsmanship as a masterbuilder. In the 03/2015 issue of "Gitarre & Bass" magazine this event was entitled "The best Fender guitars of all time" (enclosed). And with this title "Gitarre & Bass" is exactly right. In terms of look, sound and playability you really have to go far to find another such sophisticated masterpiece. With the proven 6100 frets, 9.5'' fretboard radius and "Large C" neck profile (.875''-.950'') there really is nothing left to be desired. The Strat is super comfortable to hold and you can whizz across the deep, dark rosewood fingerboard really quickly. John Cruz not only chose a very special color scheme here, he also refined the appearance with a "matching headstock". He also left his unmistakable signature on the sound. Time and again he produces guitars with an incredible warmth and fullness combined with a fast attack and response. The specially installed "Bone Tone" pickups are also used in John Mayer's guitar and this Strat has exactly the same basic character. Whether clean, distorted or high-gain, it's fun to savor every note. To expand the sound spectrum even further Cruz has also installed a blend poti that allows you to blend continuously between the bridge and neck pickups. Tele friends will also get their money's worth here. The guitar shows only minor signs of wear and comes to its future owner including the frets in excellent condition. The rider screws have been upgraded and the originals are included. Whether collector or player, 100-point Stratocaster!
