In 1967, a few days before Cream traveled to New York to record "Disraeli Gears", Eric Clapton bought a used Fender Stratocaster in London, built in 1956, which was his first Stratocaster ever and to which he gave the name "Brownie". With this guitar he recorded his first solo album, on the cover of which Brownie can also be seen. In 2013 Fender honored this legendary instrument with the Eric Clapton Brownie Tribute Stratocaster, limited to 100 pieces worldwide, which today trades for well over EUR 20,000. So, if you are looking for a cheaper version to feel the "Brownie" vibe, this is the one for you. This 57 Stratocaster by masterbuilder Todd Krause in reliced 2-tone sunburst not only looks like Eric's legendary guitar, it also sounds like it. The perfect combination of 69 Strat on the neck, 50's Strat in the middle and Fat 50's on the bridge delivers wonderfully open, sparkling, pearly, clear tones and get the full potential out of this already dry super vibrating and extremely resonant Strat. The neck with Clapton-Brownie profile and 7.25''-9.5'' compound radius feels great in the hand and invites extended solos and hours of flitting over the beautifully aged maple fingerboard. In conjunction with the proven 6105 frets and the sorted ash body, this ensures the very best playability. So we are very happy to be able to offer you this "unofficial" Brownie in top condition.
