Among the early “Custom Colors”, which were very close to the popular colors of the automotive industry, “Shell Pink” is a particularly rare and exciting color. One inevitably thinks of an American road cruiser in this cool color. So it's not surprising that the Fender Custom Shop repeatedly uses this special color for Strats based on old originals. To the delight of musicians these historic-looking instruments are increasingly equipped with modern features for better playability, such as the 9.5” fretboard radius. The “60 Style Oval C” neck profile is super comfortable in the hand and in combination with the proven 0155 frets plays simply superbly. The guitar is equipped with an alder body and typical of the period also features a single-ply white pickguard and a one-piece maple neck, which is enchanting with its attractive AAA flame grain. The guitar is also extraordinarily resonant, which is transmitted to the amp in the best possible way by the “Handwound 57” pickups on the neck and the middle and the “Handwound Fat 50s” on the bridge. Lots of smack, but the typical pearliness of a 50s Stratocaster is never lost. Clean, distorted or high-gain, it's great fun to savor every note! You can tell from every detail that this guitar is “Masterbuilder Designed”, ...but it comes to its future owner at a teambuilt price.
