Fender Stratocaster 57 Journeyman Relic Catalina Blue (2017)

Today we are pleased to be able to offer you a special guitar from Fender's Teambuilt department: a '57 Journeyman Strat in a super rare “Catalina Blue” finish with an aged, gold-anodized aluminium pickguard. We had never seen this combination before and were immediately impressed. Now that's a real stage Strat! The guitar combines a rather strong “57 Style Soft V” neck profile with a 9.5'' fingerboard radius and Medium/Jumbo frets, resulting in a great playing feel with maximum comfort. The stripped back of the neck provides an extra feel-good factor! The pickups used are “Handwound Poblanos”, which are wound a little hotter in comparison and have always been one of our favorites: pearly, bell-like sound, balanced with a slight compression, as we know it from old Strats. From juicy Blues on the neck to silky chords in the intermediate positions and roasty Rock on the bridge, everything is represented here in top form. In practice, the guitar delivers the ideal 50's mapleneck tone: lots of substance and sustain meets plenty of attack and percussiveness. The crisp but balanced sound is really fun and you won't want to stop playing pearly chords, funky riffs and snotty Blues licks. To optimize the Stratocaster's playing characteristics the previous owner upgraded the saddles to “Highwood Guitars” saddles (the original ones are of course included). This Stratocastrer is really something extraordinary and an absolute top class player. We can offer it to you in top condition except for minimal traces of use on the first frets.
