Here we have another dream Strat from masterbuilder Jason Smith. At this point simply a big compliment to Jason Smith. Every Strat that we had in recent years from him was simply amazing! So is this Heavy-Relic gem in its very own appearance. The aging here is really at its finest, incredibly authentic look. The maple fingerboard and alder body seem to have decades of heavy use behind them, the 2-tone sunburst finish shows a killer vintage patina and even the pickups were modeled after those of old, worn Strats by missing parts of the white plastic cover. But this dream Strat doesn't just look good, it also has excellent vibration characteristics. The neck with grippy Large-C profile, 9.5" radius and the 6105 frets feels super in the hand and plays very comfortably. And the already dry very good sound behavior is perfectly implemented by the hand-wound pickups: Handwound Fat 50's on the neck and in the middle, Handwound Texas Special on the bridge. Just the right combination to get all the classic Strat sounds in top form. Earthy, expressive sound, optimal for the perfect Blues sounds. And with this Stratocaster the connoisseur gets another treat besides the usual case-candies: the cover plate for the back of the body was signed and dated by Jason Smith himself.
